Conference Location
ICSOB 2026 will be held at the Lindholmen Conference Centre, Lindholmspiren 3–5, 402 78 Gothenburg, Sweden, October 26–28, 2026. The venue sits inside Lindholmen Science Park, on the north waterfront of the Göta Älv river, a few minutes from central Gothenburg.
Gothenburg (Göteborg) is Sweden's second-largest city, located on the west coast. It is easily accessible via Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (GOT), with regular flight connections from major European cities.
How to Reach Lindholmen Conference Centre
The notes below are aimed especially at travellers coming from outside Sweden who are not familiar with local transport.
By air
Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (GOT) is the closest airport, about 25 km east of the city centre, with connections to many major European hubs.
- Flygbussarna airport coach runs directly to Nils Ericson Terminalen, next to Gothenburg Central Station, in about 35 minutes, with 2–3 departures per hour. Tickets are sold online or via app — the coaches do not accept cash.
- Taxi takes about 25 minutes, traffic permitting.
- Budget coach alternatives such as FlixBus and Vy bus4you also serve the airport, typically at a lower frequency.
If you are travelling from outside Europe or cannot find a convenient direct flight to Gothenburg, Copenhagen Airport (CPH) in Denmark is a well-connected alternative hub, roughly 300 km south. From Copenhagen Airport, the Öresundståg train runs directly to Gothenburg Central Station roughly once an hour, with a journey time of around 3.5 hours. Tickets can be bought at oresundstag.se, at ticket machines at the station, or through the Västtrafik app — Västtrafik is one of the regional transport companies behind the Öresundståg service.
By train
Gothenburg Central Station has frequent long-distance connections within Sweden (including Stockholm) and to Copenhagen/Denmark via the Öresundståg service mentioned above. International visitors already elsewhere in Scandinavia may find the train a comfortable way to reach Gothenburg.
From Gothenburg Central Station to Lindholmen
Lindholmen is on the island of Hisingen, just across the river from the city centre, and is reachable in a few minutes by bus or ferry:
- Bus: Line 16 is the most frequent service to the "Lindholmen" stop, running every 3–10 minutes; several other lines (23, 30, 31, 55, 99, 126, 165, 199, 402, 510) also stop there.
- Ferry: The free Älvsnabbare passenger ferry crosses the river from Stenpiren to Lindholmen in a couple of minutes, departing every 10 minutes (approximately 07:00–18:00) — a scenic alternative to the bus.
Public transport in the region is operated by Västtrafik; tickets can be bought through the Västtrafik To Go app, and the Västtrafik journey planner can help with routing from anywhere in the region to Lindholmen.
